New, charming Wanda Friends are now on sale!
Dear Wanda Family,
March marks the start of spring on the calendar, though Japan is still under a cold spell.
Tokyo isn't one of Japan's colder regions, though snow occasionally falls in winter. Yet after May, it suddenly becomes hot. The news says Japan has lost its spring and autumn due to global warming, but Japanese spring remains to be a much-awaited season, when the most beautiful cherry blossoms flood the scenery. Likewise, spring in Noiel Forest is equally lovely, with colorful flowers blooming everywhere.
Wanda and his friends dislike winter. Since they spend the cold season holed up indoors, spring is a time for reunions with friends and neighbors. It's the arrival of the joyful season everyone has been eagerly awaiting.
In this season, a truly wonderful new doll will debut. His name is Maverick Bright Blue Star, a Wanda Friend with a mysterious look, seemingly containing a universe within its body.
We tried something for the first-time with this doll, using soft vinyl material in two colors: clear and blue.
After molding the clear form, we poured a blue material inside. This created a body that is transparent at the extremities, yet overall has a glossy finish. On top of that, we scattered glitter that shimmers like a prism, with eyes painted white and blue. Looking at him, you truly feel the galaxy right in front of your eyes —a galactic Wanda Friend.
As suggested by his body's features, Maverick is an astronomer who observes the stars from the ground and charts their movements. He gets along well with the Muliphein people, being especially close friends with Sefert. They often embark on journeys in outer space, aboard Sefert's spaceship.
Maverick's release date is Tuesday, March 10th, at 9:00 PM Japan Standard Time. As previosuly announced in our official website, we have decided to close our overseas online shop.
